Forget California dreaming. I'm dreaming of the big T - the lone star state. Yep, I booked to go back to Texas for two weeks this summer and because I'm working full time on placement (even though I absolutely love it at Surfdome) it makes the wait feel even longer - though I know it will feel so rewarding when I am on my way there!

Although I'm excited to go back out there again I know this summer is going to be really tough. Will is flying out to do a whole summer coaching in Seattle with Challenger Sports at the end of May and he returns in the middle of August. My summer is going to be pretty quiet to say the least - I'm working full time, all but one of my house mates are home for summer and my boy is away for 11 weeks! The only solace I have is the fact Will's coming to visit me in Texas while I'm there on his 4th July week off!
I am planning to have a couple of weekends away too - one of my housemates lives near Cardiff, so a weekend of partying in Wales has been loosely planned along with a weekend of partying in Liverpool with my best friend Amy in July!

On a side note, a couple of months ago me and my brother booked tickets to go to the Dallas Cowboys v. Jacksonville Jaguars in November! Definitely looking forward to seeing an American football game in the flesh AND going into Wembley stadium for the first time! It's going to be epic.

This dress was the absolute steal I found in the Zara January sale in Newcastle - £10! It's a brilliant no brainer piece that doesn't need much work to complete an awesome outfit. Definitely my go to when I've slept in a little too long and can hardly think about getting dressed when all I want to do is stay in bed!

I have to say a big thanks to ASOS for gift me this handbag - I was asked to pick one thing off the website under £100 and I went straight for this ASOS doctors bagI'm really picky about the handbags I own but this ticks all the boxes - unique design, versatility and practicality. It is 100% leather too, so actually a bargain for £75 (or £67.50 if you are a student!)

Its almost Easter weekend - which means a 4 day weekend for me! I'm going up to Newcastle on Friday to spend time with my boyfriend. We will most likely be pigging out on food and I might even bribe him into taking some outfit pictures for me!

If you follow me on Instagram then you will know I have recently started the gym. I'm on a mission to ditch the excess around my hips forever (screw you genetics)! So obviously this meant investing in some proper trainers to support me when I'm running or doing a gym class and I have to say this is the best £63 I have ever spent in my life. The Roshi Run style are the most comfortable trainers my feet have ever had the pleasure of knowing - which I was particularly thankful for when I over did it on the old legs weight training on Monday night. I wore these for the rest of the week to ensure I had the proper support to help my muscles recover. It took me until Thursday to start walking again properly - much to the amusement of my manager!

I also still have huge love for this Whistles jumper even though its almost not jumper-weather any more! I picked it up in the sale at Fenwicks Newcastle back in December with the excuse that I would need it for Paris if it was chilly - which it was! I have had to stop my obsession with buying beautiful jumpers though (especially neoprene ones!) with the weather starting to look a little bit promising. I do have a severe lack of tops/tees for summer in my wardrobe so if any one has seen any eye catching summer pieces let me know!

I was meant to blog about this dress yonks ago! But it ended up getting lost in the abyss that is my room/ wardrobe (yeah I'm working on it!) I have to say I really love the tapestry-esk print on this dress in the subtle blues, silver and cream! Its probably not something I'd usually go for on a day to day basis but will definitely be called upon for those more dressy evenings with the girls or even an interview!

Went to the Metro Centre today and bought a couple of bargain purchases from Zara - I am really bored of January sales now though... I want newness in the stores!

If I were in your shoes

Dress - ASOS

I'm really bugged by these outfit pictures. These photos do not show how amazing this dress actually is! Definitely one that looks 'better in real life'. However, I have finally found my staple dress... its easy to style and covers a multitude of sins when you want to go for that oh-so-tempting double bacon cheeseburger with extra fries instead of the I-know-should-really-be-good salad!

Not much to update you on today! Half way through the week and I'll be with the boy now until Sunday! Three weeks has gone fast but slow at the same time.

Scream and Shout

Dress - c/o Motel Rocks
Necklace - eBay

Bracelets - c/o Celliana
Boots - New Look

I'm back! I know, I've been pretty rubbish with outfit posts in the last few months but now I have weekends free its going to be a lot easier to rope a house mate (or the unsuspecting boyfriend) in to take a few snaps for me here and there!

This beautiful yet bum-skimmingly-short dress was given to me by Motel Rocks recently to which I wore on my cousins 22nd night out (hey Gledd!). I was confident enough that I wouldn't have same-dress-drama that night! I like the unusual foil print on this jersey dress and the cut outs on the shoulder gives it a unique edge. The only downside (which may not be a downside for other girls) is that it is so short on me. With me being 5 ft 8 I have this problem regularly with dresses, however I have teamed this dress with my trusty pleather skirt from H&M to make it my own!

Big thanks to the girls at Motel!

Ah, oui oui, Paris!

Coat - Zara
Snood - ASOS
Jumper - Whistles
Dress - Cos
Boots - New Look
Bag - Zara

Just a little post on my surprise trip to Paris that my boyfriend got me for Christmas! Yes, upon opening the huge Postpak box he gave to me on Christmas day and opening joke present after joke present (yeah real funny after opening 5 or 6 in a row...) the last thing I expected was a few envelopes in the bottom with our boarding cards and hotel bookings! And yes, I did get a bit emotional.. don't laugh.. I was just happy/shocked he managed to pull it off without me finding out!

Early January 1st we jetted from Luton to Charles de Gaulle airport to begin our French adventure! We visited the French Winter Wonderland and landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, L'Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and the Pont des Arts bridge to lock our very own love lock onto the bridge (yeah, the padlock was one of the joke-y presents!)

It was such a great trip, great, but so, so tiring! We did a vast amount of walking in the 3 days we were there! The only thing I must say for anyone wanting to visit Paris is to BOOK TICKETS ONLINE FOR ANY LANDMARK ATTRACTIONS OR SHOW TICKETS. The queue to get into The Louvre was about a mile long (and no, I'm not exaggerating!) We also spoke to an Australian family who had failed to buy tickets for Moulin Rouge on the door but managed to get some after going back to their hotel and booking them online.

Oh, and if you are wanting to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower? GO EARLY AND QUEUE FOR THE STAIRS! We got there before it opened and the queue for the lifts was already ridiculous. Unfortunately, the Parisian tourist information fail to tell you that both the stair and lift access will get you up to the top. The only difference is if you take the stairs you have 800 and something stairs to conquer - but then its the lift from the second floor to the top! It was definitely the best option, I think it was slightly cheaper and it took us no time to get in!

On a final note, I kinda have to thank Will for making this trip happen and making it so special so, THANK YA!
